Files, pasted images and colors

When you choose a file, drag an image onto the tool or paste an image from your clipboard, the image is decoded and analyzed locally in your browser. The site does not send that image or its extracted colors to us or to an image-processing service.

Picked colors and the image remain in the current page session. The tool does not create an account, save a history or store them in local storage. Exporting a palette downloads a file to your device. Copy buttons write the values you choose to your clipboard; pasting reads an image only when you invoke that feature and your browser permits it. Downloaded files and clipboard contents can remain on your device after the page closes.

Loading an image URL

If you enter an image URL, your browser requests that address directly. We do not use a proxy. That image host receives the network request, including your IP address, and its own privacy practices apply. The tool requests the image without credentials and with no referrer. Browser security and cross-origin rules still apply: if the image host does not allow access, loading fails and the tool shows an error. You can instead download the image yourself and choose the local file.

Website hosting and technical requests

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Visiting the website sends ordinary requests to Cloudflare to load the page, stylesheet and script. Cloudflare processes network and request information, such as IP addresses, requested URLs and browser information, to deliver and protect the site. This is separate from the image processing that stays in your browser. See Cloudflare's privacy policy for its practices.

Cookies, analytics and future advertising

Cloudflare Web Analytics is enabled on the hosted site. Cloudflare can add a browser script that reports page visits and loading-performance information to Cloudflare. This is separate from our image-processing code. Cloudflare describes this service as cookie-free and says it does not track individual visitors across customer websites. See Cloudflare's collection documentation.

The color-picker code does not set application cookies or use local storage to track you. Cloudflare also processes technical data as part of hosting and security.

We plan to add third-party advertising in the future. No third-party advertisements are currently installed. Before adding them, we will update this policy with the providers and data practices involved, and add any consent controls required for that implementation.

Contact email

If you email us, we receive the address you send from, your message and any attachments you choose to include. Messages to our contact address are forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing to a Gmail inbox. Those services process the email to deliver it. We use your message to respond and handle your request. Please do not email sensitive images or information that we do not need to resolve the issue.

You may email us to request deletion of correspondence we hold. We do not hold copies of images merely opened in the tool, so there is no server-side image record for us to retrieve or delete.
